This wine has been flying under the radar the last few years since we were first we exposed to it. This is one of Chilean winemaker extraordinaire Alvaro Espinoza’s projects made from 60 year old vines, a Carmenere (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) blend. This displays beautiful refinement from start to finish. Lots of blackberry, black plum fruit, with leafy, herbal characters as well as some loam and tobacco notes. This plays its medium weight suppleness and ripe mid palate fruit against the dry finish of firmer, powdery tannins to perfection.
