This non-vintage blend is gorgeously ripe and glossy on the nose, offering lush blackberries and creme de cassis, together with some mocha, cigar box and sweet spices. Really full-bodied and ample on the palate, which is firmly packed with dense, muscular tannins that add grip and gravitas. Sweet berries in the middle. Fine-grained and long. A NV blend of malbec, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot, 20% of each. Makes you think of a very ripe Pomerol. A bit too young now, so give it two to three years to evolve. Should age gracefully. Approach after 2024.
Alandes, (word combination of “Wines from Along the Andes”) is one of Karim Mussi’s projects, who along with his partners, found a beautiful old winery, to develop new brands and styles without the restrictions of producing wines from grapes of/from a single terroir. Every label of Alandes is driven by an individual concept, that represents absolute freedom, a “Laize Faire” winemaking philosophy that is spread in an extensive territory without boundaries.
