This savory red is silky and refined in feel, with singed bay leaf and Nyons olive notes to the black cherry and plum core. Buoyed by fresh acidity, this finishes with fine tannins and details of singed orange peel. Drink now through 2030. 800 cases imported.

The second wine from Domus, the 2018 Alba de Domus, was cropped from a cooler and wetter year. It was produced with a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 3% each Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, hitting the scale at 15.4% alcohol. It has a balsamic, herbal and minty nose and a full-bodied palate with abundant tannins and a slightly harsh finish. Give it a little more time in bottle.
Ricardo and Isabel Peña craft world-class Chilean wines from the Viña Quebrada de Macul vineyard which is widely considered one of the finest plots in the Maipo Valley. The vineyard sits in the foothills of the Andes Mountains on prime gravelly soils. The family purposely keep yields very low to maximise quality and the vineyard is harvested vine by vine to ensure all of the fruit is picked at optimum ripeness.
Primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon along with a dash of Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this vivacious red is fermented using wild yeasts and then aged in French oak barrels for 18 months before bottling. Following bottling the wine is then rested for 6 months more before it is released.
Bright and deep ruby purple in the glass with aromas of candied cherries, raspberries and herbal tones. Alba de Domus opens up with wild berries and mint bringing about balance, integrated structure and fine tannins followed by a ripe juicy texture. Lively and smooth, it has an elegant body that evolves into a bright finish of slightly jammy red fruits and discrete mineral tones.
