Andrew Hardy Little OX Shiraz 2014

Tasting Notes

July 2018 – The 2014 Little Ox is just now starting to open up with some of the oak influenced notes to the sweet fruit starting to resolve themselves by getting soaked up into the fruit. Richly fruited, blueberry and cherry fruit are held in sway with some vanillin oak spice aromatically. The palate offers up McLaren Vale generosity, soft and fleshy, on its fuller frame with dark cherry and blueberry fruit flavors that are sweet, countered with a touch of savory oak spice. The tannins are ultra-fine and powdery giving just enough supporting grip to focus the ripe, soft textured fruit, saying it’s ready to go now, but should hold up well for a few more years

Inky ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh, spice-tinged black and blue fruits, candied flowers and cola. Concentrated blueberry, floral pastille and mocha flavors show very good clarity and thrust, and a spine of juicy acidity provides lift and structure. Smoothly marries richness to energy and finishes long and sweet, the subtle tannins folding quickly into the energetic dark fruit. — Josh Raynolds
