Hand picked over an 8-day period, fermented entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness. Crunchy acidity and a salivating plump mid palate which is crammed to bursting with nashi pear, green apple, soft talcy florals and gentle suggestions of citrus pith. Incredibly pretty, almost dusty, very satisfying and has great length of flavour.

The Devitt family first planted verdelho in 1976 with cuttings from the Swan Valley. They planted a second block in 1987; both parcels contribute to this 2020, a wine that achieves its luscious texture without seeing any oak. There’s sweetness to the wine’s plentiful acidity, making it mercurial in the mouth, changing up from crisp apple to tart raspberry to the richness of lobster in a pastry shell—with which this would be refreshingly delicious. Decant it if you open the bottle now; it’s probably best to age this for six or seven years to let it fully develop.

This pale-gold Verdelho encapsulates much of the fruity, textural charm of this historic variety in Western Australia. The tangy lime, pear and mealy-apple aromas mingle with some reductive salty seashell notes. A rounder honeysuckle character is there too. A refreshing lift of crunchy acidity in the mouth neatly juxtaposes the distinctive texture and concentrated orchard-fruit flavors. Drink now or hold another few years for a more honeyed version.
A vibrant, unwooded style of Verdelho with lashings of fruit aromas on the nose marrying with tropical fruit flavors and hints of spice on the palate. The wine stays focused and finishes crisp and dry yet has a powerful and refreshing length that makes this wine the perfect accompaniment to spicy, full flavoured dishes. Famous for its natural acidity, this variety ages beautifully. Cellaring for more than five years rewards with complex spice and honeysuckle and developing nutty and toasty characters.
