A richly styled Chenin that starts with a hint of smoky oak and almond nuttiness that follows through to a full mouthfeel of intensely ripe apricots and creamy well-integrated oak giving a beautiful texture and complexity.

Cooked mango, papaya, poached pear and roasted hazelnut on the nose. Some butterscotch, too. It’s medium-to full-bodied with a ripe, creamy and rich palate. Buttery, with lingering caramel notes. Sustainable. Drink now. Screw cap.

Medium straw-colored, the 2020 The Bernard Series Old Vine Chenin Blanc opens with fresh aromas of yellow apple, lemon pastry cream, sautéed almonds, wax melon and nuances of oak spices. Medium-bodied, the Chenin Blanc has succulent acidity with a textural mouthfeel and balanced structure before showing a touch of lees in the way of brioche flavors. The wine concludes with a delightful finish that brings me back for more. 2022-2028
The grapes for this distinctive Chenin Blanc are hand-picked from characterful and genuinely unique old bush vines specifically blended from Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Darling. It features vibrant tropical fruit flavours with hints of honey and oak spice on the finish.
