The 2019 Chardonnay Buscado Vivo o Muerto La Verdad 100 from San Pablo, Tunuyán, was 20% aged in used barrels for 10 months. Yellowish green in the glass, this wine stands out for its herbal aromas: mountain aromatics alongside jarilla, green apple and a yeasty quality rounded off by hazelnut notes. Intense in the mouth with a terse texture, moderate fattiness and compact flow. The freshness takes over toward the end. Full of flavors arranged with clockwork precision and subtlety, this is a white to be wanted dead or alive. Drink: 2021-2027.

(13.5%). La Verdad is the best of the Buscado Chardonnays in 2019, produced with grapes from a vineyard at 1,300 metres in increasingly trendy San Pablo. Subtly wooded, with some texture from partial malolactic fermentation, sappy citrus and tangerine fruit flavours and the freshness that’s a feature of the bodega’s wines. 2022-2026.
