Casas del Bosque La Cantera Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Tasting Notes

The idea behind the wine is to create “thiols layers”, blending and maximizing thiolic aromatic expression so that you can easily identify grapefruit notes combined with passion fruit, lime and boxtree aromas. The cold stabulation technique is a great way to free those aromatic precursors and make them stand out in the wine. The aromatic sensation is defined, pure, pristine and intense. The aromatic profile is completed by other fruity notes such as fresh pear and banana peel.

“La Cantera” already marks a style that is also respected in this vintage 2024. The taste is dominated by citrusy and tropical notes, with a vertical acidity sensation that emulates a sense of direction on the palate. The sensation of “saltiness” on the back palate speaks of our site: Las Dichas. This La Cantera 2024 is an outstandingly aromatic wine, which delivers the true cool climate expression of our vineyard, located in Las Dichas, the coldest end of the Casablanca Valley

As clean, fresh and focused as Chilean Sauvignon Blanc comes, this is a good-value, stainless steel-fermented white with some subtle, gunflint reduction on the nose, passion fruit and gooseberry flavours, a touch of sweetness and a chiselled finish. 2025-27

90 pts Wine Enthusiast ‘Best Buy’ Top Sauvignon Blanc Under $20
La Cantera is one of the winery’s vineyards in Casablanca that is influenced by the cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean. As a result, this wine is crisp and aromatic, exhibiting a bouquet of lime and tropical fruit. It delivers citrus notes and hints of pineapple on the palate.

Winemaker Notes

La Cantera was born with the 2019 vintage and became part of the Botanic Series family. It is a Sauvignon Blanc that comes to represent the maximum aromatic expression of Casablanca as envisioned by our winemaking team in conjunction with New Zealand consultant Sam Harrop MW.

The grapes come from the “La Cantera” vineyard, planted on a red clay hillside of decomposed granite, facing east, very exposed to the sun and the sea breezes characteristic of the Casablanca Valley. The wine displays a ¨layers of thiols¨ showing the different aromatic faces of this grape variety.
