Blackberries, peppercorns, tobacco, black plums, cloves and bitter chocolate on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Vivid and fresh. Blend of montepulciano, sagrantino, primitivo, cesanese and dolcetto. Drink or hold.

The 2020 La Collezione del Maule is a blend of Montepulciano, Sagrantino, Primitivo, Dolcetto and Cesanese grapes from seven-year-old vines planted ungrafted on granite soils in the Gillmore vineyards. It fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, had a soft extraction and matured in used French oak barrels for 18 months. It’s floral, creamy with some spicy oak, with 14.5% alcohol, good freshness and acidity, with structure and abundant tannins (from Sagrantino?). It needs powerful food. 1,622 bottles were filled in November 2021
