Ripe, fleshy blueberries and raspberries drive this red blend without too much oak getting in the way. There’s an underbelly of flowers, cinnamon and peppery spice. The tannins are typically muscular, while the fruit is juicy, silky and fresh

Robust wild berry, plum, licorice and roasted herb flavors show a tangy blood orange note on the muscular finish, where cedar, tobacco and black walnut details linger with hints of spice. Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. Drink now.

  1. Karl

I picked this up on a whim, as it was tagged at a “blow out” price at an independent liquor retailer. That price was just 12.50 Cdn, which is on the low end price-wise for non-commercial, non-gerrymandered wines in Canada. Bought 3 bottles, opened one that evening, and, bummer!, I now have to return to pick up several more before they are gone! Juicy, but fully dry. A brilliant, shimmering ruby in the glass, but with a depth and richness one would expect from a deeper coloured wines. The nose is lively with red berries and plum, which follow through immediately upon taste. Jammy ripe raspberry is followed by a hint of blueberry and cherry that each dance along the tongue, and slip away with a hint of red berry tartness held together by robust tannin. No bitterness to note, and although deliciously drinkable now, the 2017 should hold and perhaps improve a bit more over the next 6-12 months. Just a spectacular bargain, and as good as and even better than many I have tasted at twice the price.
