This has classic Cabernet aromas of crème de cassis, black currant along with shades of tobacco, cedar and graphite/pencil shavings with a hint of vanillin/toast as a backdrop. Medium fuller bodied, there is a core of generous black currant and ripe plum fruit flavors rounding out the mid palate, giving a supple textural feel. While the tannins are evident and give good structural support, they are now just starting to integrate with the fruit, saying this should evolve beautifully with proper cellaring. A nice vein of acidity drives the fruit to a long, impressive finish with some oak spice gently pushing through on the back end. This is just now showing glimpses of its potential and should drink beautifully over the next 6-8 years, with proper cellaring.
