Rich and juicy, this medium- to full-bodied red is loaded with aromatic spice box, graphite and Earl Grey tea leaf notes, a fragrant overtone layered with the crushed mulberry and raspberry fruit flavors. Hints of loamy earth and mocha enrich the chewy finish. Drink now through 2026

Boela Gerber uses 40% new oak on this Pinotage, but it’s very well integrated, demonstrating that the variety loves wood. Smooth, supple and concentrated with alluring bramble and wild strawberry fruit, aromas of lily and violet, fine tannins and supporting acidity. 2022-26.

Mulberry, blackberry and baked cherry all dance in the bouquet of this wine, with an attractive overlay of baking spice and delicate char atop it all. On the sip, there’s a lovely focus, with medium acidity and fine but gripping tannins that produce a still tense structure. Give this a good decant or enjoy after 2025.
4 Stars 2021 Platter’s South African Wine Guide
Though intended for the deepest part of your cellar (as all GC reds), 18 (89 pts) entices with fynbos aromas, silky texture & light cocoa dusting after 14 months in French oak, 40% new. Red plum, raspberry, blueberry fruit elements better integrated than 17 (87 pts).
The wine has an intense ruby red colour. Ripe red fruit like sweet strawberries and raspberries combine with black cherries and plums on the nose, while the delicate use of new oak adds a hint of cacao. The bold, ripe fruit flavours follow on the palate, and the fine tannin structure ensures a long, elegant finish.
