Lovely aromatics of oak spice and a light shade of vanilla interplaying with dark red fruits of cherry and plum on the nose gives this an appealing aromatic profile. Showing beautiful fruit purity and concentration on its medium fuller to fuller frame, this is perfectly balanced with finer tuned tannins and juicy acidity, saying this is just a baby and will reward patience although it’s showing so well out the gate that it’s already a gorgeous drop. Simply another exceptional offering from Kanonkop this speaks highly of the vintage. This may be one of the best we have tried and that in its own right is saying quite a bit.

Still youthful and showing its 80% new wood, this is a very ambitious Pinotage from a fantastic Cape red vintage, exhibiting considerable colour, structure and concentration, fine-boned tannins and layers of raspberry and black cherry fruit. Give it time. 2021-2030.

Matured for 16 months in French oak, 80% new, the nose shows red and black cherry and plums to go with musk, vanilla and spice plus a little banana loaf. The palate is extremely flavourful and very well balanced with pure fruit, punchy acidity and fine tannins (alcohol: 14.32%). It’s polished in the best sense and sure to appeal to a wide range of wine enthusiasts.
Bright ruby-red hues. A textbook Stellenbosch Pinotage with aromatic and spicy aromas of mulberry, raspberry and cinnamon. Muscular, well integrated tannins add great structure. Flavours of bramble, violets, plums and black berries are balanced by scented new oak. An elegant wine with savoury notes on the lengthy finish, and a lifting underlying freshness. Can age 10 – 15 years from vintage, but can mature for longer if stored under ideal conditions.
