Ken Forrester is a Chenin Blanc specialist and he has produced a beautiful Chenin with his just released 2021 Ken Forster Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc. For South African wine fans the name Ken Forrester should conjure up memories of his Chenin Blanc exploits over the years. He is recognized in his native South Africa as being one of that country’s top Chenin producers, in particular in regards to his Old Vine Reserve offering, which always makes a statement about over delivering quality for the money. This quality and over delivering pricing is on full display here.
We have been anticipating the arrival of this wine for a number of months and it has finally arrived into our market. Finding this type of quality at way south of $20 makes it something that pretty hard to beat. Ken Forrester hit the nail on the head on this one. For $16.99 a bottle this is something worthy of stocking up on.

Golden hued and full bodied, with melon and spicy baked apple aromas. Layered, with mineral notes enhanced by honeycomb and caramel flavours from lees contact. This wine is a great example of the harmonious balance which can be achieved between fruit and delicate oak/vanilla flavours, as they combine to form complex, soft flavours with sufficient body to enhance even spicy and full flavoured meals.
