4 ½ Stars 2020 Platter’s South African Wine Guide
17 (93 pts) maintains tone set by previous. Structured, elegant Rhone-styled with peppery plum fruit & vibrancy from 5% viognier. Lovely concentration & depth. Some fruit from cool Elgin & Walker Bay used again.

A blend of 95% Syrah, predominantly from Elim but including a small Walker Bay portion, and 5% Viognier from Franschhoek. Matured for 14 months in 300-litre French oak barrels, 55% new before blending and being returned to barrel for a further four months. Raspberry, plum and peach plus vanilla and white pepper on the nose. The palate is medium bodied and well balanced, the acidity unobtrusive and the tannins fine. Quietly classy rather than thrilling to drink.
This wine is a blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Viognier. The Shiraz component is from Elim (90%) and Walker Bay (5%) while the Viognier (5%) originates from Franschhoek.
This Syrah Viognier red-and-white wine blend with its rich, fruity style is a versatile partner to food, as the structure and spice of the Syrah, as well as the floral nuances of the Viognier, allow it to complement beef, venison and charcuterie, aromatic curries, game birds such as quail and duck, as well as reduced fruit flavours.
