Lanzerac is one of the few Stellenbosch wineries to make reds with Jonkershoek grapes. The comparative coolness of the sub-region is appealingly apparent in this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with 41% Syrah and Petit Verdot, which has cassis and redcurrant fruit, a twist of
mint, nice focus and a hint of oak sweetness. 2023-29
The Lanzerac Jonkershoek Reserve 2019 is a blend consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Petit Verdot. The grapes for each variety used in this blend comes from selected vineyards in the Jonkershoek Valley. All harvesting and pruning were done by hand with extreme care taken to not damage the grapes resulting in only healthy grapes being picked.
The Jonkershoek Reserve 2019 is a blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Shiraz and 20% Petit Verdot. The 3 varietals were individually fermented and matured in French Oak before careful blending and bottling.
The Lanzerac Jonkershoek Reserve is a red blend to express the unique terroir of the Jonkershoek Valley. This expressive Cabernet-based blend is packed with aromas of black cherry, chocolate, spice and hints of cassis. Juicy and lingering aftertaste with a well-integrated tannin structure.
