The nose of the 2017 Leeuwinkuil Reserve White is somewhat shy on opening but with aeration notes of white flowers, apple and a richer tropical component reminding of pineapple come to the fore. The white orchard fruit notes of apple and pear take on a richer tropical note in the palate while the acidity has nice drive leading to a clean and lengthy finish with a touch of nuttiness on the back end. This is drinking beautifully as we speak and should show well over the next couple of years.
5 Stars 2020 Platter’s South African Wine Guide
More than lives up to tank sample tasted previously, 17 (95 pts) a consummate blend headed by chenin with 20% seven others – notably grenache blanc, marsanne, verdelho. All create complexity, individuality & freshness without the assistance of oak. Modern, delicious.
