This wine comes from vineyards near the coast in Maule Valley. It’s easy going, with aromas of flint and meaty plums that lead to a soft palate. Flavors of tobacco, berries and herbs are lifted by moderate acidity.

Winemaker Notes

The 2020–2021 season began with a mild winter, where temperatures were somewhat higher than during the last vintage. Summer was cool,
with temperatures around 1.5°-2°C (35°-36°F) lower than normal, and in late January there was rainfall that kept us on the alert to prevent fungi such as botrytis. The 2021 vintage is considered cold, reaching a level of ripeness that allowed us to harvest the grapes without rushing, at their optimal point with good acidity and moderate alcohol levels.

This wine has its origins in the Las Lomas parcel located in the Coastal Maule region, just 21 kilometers (13 miles) from the Pacific Ocean. The proximity to the Pacific Ocean results in a cool microclimate that allows the Pinot Noir to ripen in a gradual and balanced way. This, together with the soils with a substantial presence of metamorphic rocks or schist, enables us to attain wines. with excellent varietal expression and great personality.

The maritime influence regulates the temperatures and prevents extremes during the ripening period, although the proximity to the ocean can cause heavy frosts between winter and spring. The high solar radiation, enhanced by the dark color of the slate, and the significant temperature variation create conditions to get wines with high alcohol content, great color concentration, and excellent aromas.
