Moroki Pinot Noir 2022

Tasting Notes

Moroki is produced from juicy Pinot Noir grapes. On the nose ripe red fruits and slightly spicy notes are supported well by the oak. The palate is very appealing with delicious red berries and ripe supple tannins.

Moroki Pinot Noir 2022

90 pts ‘Best Buy’ Wine Enthusiast April 2024
This brick-tinted wine from the Nelson region, at the top of the South Island, needs some aeration when first poured. Once the reductive aromas blow off, it offers aromas of pomegranate and raspberry cordial, white pepper, mushrooms and hoisin sauce. While lightweight overall, there’s some creaminess to the mouthfeel, with herb-flecked, cat’s tongue tannins.

Winemaker Notes

Moroki Wine Co is a wine cooperative, an autonomous association of wine enthusiasts from vineyard owners to distributors who have one objective in mind: deliver modern wine products that best highlight small parcels of high quality fruit sourced from the world famous Marlborough region; and surrounding provinces that are known for their distinctive flavours.

Maori is an Eastern Polynesian language spoken by the Maori people, the indigenous population of New Zealand. Moroki pronounced (mo-ro-kee) means “continuing, ongoing, up-to-the-present” and hence is wine made for the modern drinker!
