Nugan Estate ‘SV Stomper’s’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Tasting Notes

This wine is dense purple in colour and also has youthful garnet hues. Aromas of sweet berry fruits entwine with milk chocolate and allspice. Additionally, there are intense flavours of blackcurrant and plum with soft supple tannins which combine beautifully with a subtle oak accompaniment.

The Personality Series is a representation of the culture and history of Nugan Estate. Over the years there have been many characters that have been integral to shaping the identity of Nugan Estate. Each of the wines in the Personality series carries a true story which is a reflection of the people who have helped to develop this fantastic single vineyard range.  These wines are of the highest quality and we create them by using a combination of minimal cropping levels in the vineyard and the experience of our winemaking team. This wine is 14 percent alcohol and we suggest you serve it at 18 degrees Celsius for maximum enjoyment.

Winemaker Notes

The grapes for the Stomper’s Cabernet Sauvignon from Nugan Estate grow in the Riverina. Mild temperatures at the beginning of the season provide a long ripening period which allow for slow even ripening. Additionally to this, is the development of high quality fruit. Once we harvest the grapes, we destem and chill the small parcels of fruit. Fermentation of this wine takes place in small static fermenters. After this, the wine is then pressed out into a combination of French and American oak barrels for a further 12 months maturation.
