Oct 2018 – The 2015 Orzada Carignan is sourced from an old, dry farmed vineyard, with the vines age ranging between 60-100 years, that is organically and biodynamic managed in the Maule Valley. Deeply colored this has more scale in terms of color and weight than most Carignan we are accustomed to. The nose has an engaging amalgam of purple and blackberry fruit, a floral lift of violets, oak spice and a light herbal inflection aromatically. Medium fuller bodied, there’s a deep core of intense, sweet dark fruit flavors that are mouth filling and supple that picks up a savory note on the lengthy, warm and dry finish. This is just now starting to hit its stride and should drink impressively over the next couple of years.
