Although this is a richer, oxidative style the acidity counters perfectly. Aromas of citrus, dried pear and stone fruits reminding of peach and apricot are inflected with a touch of honey comb and vanilla. The palate is medium fuller, with a creamy texture and flavors of honey comb, peach and a tropical pineapple element all carried on a vein of underlying acidity that gives length and balance. Showing well as we speak this should continue to drink impressively over the next 3-4 years.

Serious 17 (94 pts) is rich, oxidatively styled but livened by fresh acidity, creamy apple tarte tatin & stone fruit offset by harmonious oaking (all French, just 10%, 10 months), rounded & lengthy. Over delivers like standout 16.
