For a wine that only weighs in at around 12% alcohol per volume this packs some impressive fruit intensity. The aromatics showcase notes of lemongrass and fennel with passion fruit and lemon/lime citrus fruit tones. The palate has beautiful fruit purity to the citrus, lime flavors that are enlivened with some stony minerality and driven by highlighting acidity that brings this to a juicy, mouth watering finish that you can take time to. Precise with great cut and clarity, this can be enjoyed now but will improve with a little extra bottle age and drink impressively for several more years.
Organically certified and hand harvested from Central Otago – Peregrine Estate Bendigo (52%) and Cromwell Basin (48%).
Combination of whole bunch pressing and destemmed fruit with some skin contact. Cool stainless steel fermentation.
The 2020 season started dry and cool in Central Otago, followed by warmer temperatures throughout summer and a lovely ripening period in autumn. This resulted in smaller bunches and berries, with lovely purity and intensity of flavour.
Vibrant aromatics and great purity of flavour combine with a distinctive minerality and fine palate texture. A beautiful wine that reflects our commitment to organic winegrowing on the two sub regions that contribute to our Sauvignon Blanc.
Passionfruit, feijoa and lime aromatics. Flinty and lively with hints of snow pea and fennel.
