The nose is complex and multi-dimensional with notes of yellow apple, quince and stone fruit notes reminding of white peach. The palate, although somewhat delicate, is finely tuned on its medium bodied frame, displaying captivating fruit intensity that has a touch of mid palate roundness, with vibrancy and freshness to the assorted flavors of stone fruit/peach and nectarine and citrus/lime with a mineral component on the finish. Quite long and persistent on the finish this is showing well out the gate and should drink impressively over the next 5 plus years.

Another outstanding chenin blanc with sliced-apple and white-peach character. Medium body, bright acidity and a dry finish. Delicious now. Screw cap.

The 2017 Old Vines Chenin Blanc comes from three parcels of 40-plus-year-old vines. Half of the wine was fermented and matured in 300-liter French oak barrels, half in stainless steel, for nine months before blending. The fragrant bouquet demands coaxing from the glass, revealing scents of yellow fruit, fennel and light granite. The palate is well balanced, offering orange zest, yellow fruit and touches of ginger and a very subtle, rich viscosity toward the finish, while maintaining superb freshness from beginning to end. Superb.

Pale, refined and elegant, this is a 50/50 blend of wooded and stainless steel components, with pure green apple and citrus fruit flavours, hints of beeswax, fennel and saffron and a dusting of baking spices. 2019-25
