Saronsberg ‘Provenance’ Shiraz 2016

Tasting Notes

Jan 2019 – The 2016 Saronsberg Provenance Shiraz has a fruit forward nose that is nuanced with notions of pepper and cardamom spice to the red and darker fruit tones that remind of cherry, plum and currant that are given lift by a light floral touch aromatically. Medium fuller bodied, there’s an underlying acid thread that runs through the mix of red and darker red flavors giving this vibrancy to the sleek textural mouth feel. The tannins are finer tuned and nicely integrated into the fruit, giving good focusing grip to the vibrant fruit leaving a powdery, dry impression to the long finish. This is just now starting to open up and should drink impressively over the next 2-3 years.
