Displaying complex aromas of raspberry, sour cherry and hints of forest floor. The palate is seamless and elegant with flavours of strawberry, dark cherry and rhubarb over layers of mushroom and truffle. The French oak barriques add ample but delicate tannins with a creamy palate delivering a generous and delightful length. Solid proprietary pinot, beautifully combining the use of clones with judicious oak handling and the sensitive inclusion of whole bunches. The bunchy spice melds with the red fruit, cinnamon, sandalwood and clove scents. Fine sappy length. At this price, hard to find better. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The estate’s introductory Pinot Noir that collects a range of clones across its Oakbank vineyard. Winemaking with partial whole bunch, whole berry, wild ferments, and the estate practice of 10 months in French barrels. It’s a pure, glossy cherry colour, fragrant with crushed red fruits and, along the same lines, juicy in the palate as well. Clear and precise Pinot characters with lovely, lighter tannins. Very easy to enjoy on its own, or in summer lunch mode.

Clear red colour, moderate intensity. Seductive nose combining floral notes, Morello cherries, fresh grapes and a subtle mineral dimension. Juicy and lively on the palate, framed by very fine tannins with discreet woody accents. Already irresistible.

Winemaker Notes

Carefully selected from low-yielding vines on our picturesque 300-acre estate in the elevated, cool-climate region of Oakbank, these grapes underwent a meticulous journey. Harvested by hand, they were then delicately chilled for 24-48 hours prior to embarking on a unique winemaking process.

Our winemakers employed a partial whole-bunch, whole-berry ferment, allowing the magic of wild yeast to unfold. Following this, an extended maceration and a patient maturation period of 10 months took place in exclusive 100% French Oak barrels. The result is a wine that captures the essence of its origin.

This exquisite creation reveals a bouquet of intricate aromas, dominated by the luscious notes of strawberries and cream, complemented by subtle hints of forest floor. The palate is a seamless tapestry of elegance, showcasing vibrant red fruits intertwined with alluring gamey characters, layered over nuances of mushroom and fresh herbs.

The judicious use of French oak imparts ample yet delicate tannins, providing a generously delightful length to the wine. Whether enjoyed on its own or paired with culinary delights, such as duck or game dishes, or even stuffed wild mushrooms for a vegetarian option, this wine is a true sensory experience.

While it already graces the palate beautifully, its potential for evolution with careful cellaring ensures a continued refinement of flavors over time. Indulge in the present, or savor the anticipation of the exquisite transformation that awaits in the future.
