February 2019
This showcases beautiful fruit purity and ticks all the right varietal boxes for this lovely cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is a mixture of mulberry, darker cassis and red currant fruit with deftly integrated oak that gives a light peppery spice and a subtle chocolate edge to the wine’s aromatics, with a nice floral lift adding extra nuance. Medium to medium fuller bodied, this embodies the traits that well made Cabernet exhibit from the region, fruit purity front and center, unencumbered with any excessive, overlain oak that pinches down on the fruit. Elegantly structured with good fruit purity and intensity, this displays lovely balance and refinement. Harmonious oak integration gives this a round suppleness to the mid palate leading to a long, dry finish. Although starting to just now give a glimpse of what lies a head, this should unfold beautifully over the next 5 plus years.

Bright violet. Aromas of black currant, cherry and licorice are joined by smoke and floral accents as the wine opens up. Nicely concentrated yet lively on the palate, offering juicy dark fruit flavors and a spicy touch of cracked pepper. Finishes spicy and long, featuring a hint of candied flowers and subtle tannins. — Josh Raynolds
Most people know Damon Eastaugh for his legendary big wave surfing talents. Few are aware of his other passion – winemaking. When he’s not in the ocean riding the giants, you’ll find him in our cellars making our fantastic, award winning wines. This delicious Cabernet Sauvignon comes from specially selected parcels grown on our Wildberry Estate vineyard – located in the heart of the famous Margaret River sub-region of Wilyabrup. Bunch selection in the vineyard is followed by open tank ferments an regions hand plunging before being basket pressed into French barrels (20% new). 15 Months later Damin does the assemblage and after minimal fining and filtration, the wine is bottled to represent the truest possible expression of this internationally acclaimed wine region. Intense blackcurrant and blackberry sweetness lift out of the glass over layers of black olive and molasses richness. The palate is concentrated, and textured showing chewy tannins well integrated with subtle amounts of French Oak. This wine will benefit from cellaring for 5-10 years
