The Yalumba Samuel’s Collection Shiraz consistently delivers great drinking at what is a very competitive pricepoint. Plush dark and blackberry fruits, plenty of brown spice, licorice and dark chocolate hues, a cassis-like roll across the tongue and enough structure to give medium-term cellaring confidence.
Late winter and spring rains have set the vines up for a high-quality year. The summer was mild with below average daytime temperatures and cool nights, which led to the development of fabulous colour, pristine aromatics and flavours with good natural acidity.
Sourced from Barossa vineyards where the vines range from young (approximately 10 – 15 years old) to old (greater than 35 years). They are planted in a diverse range of sites and have slight variations in micro-climates and soil types, including red brown earths, sandy loams or dark clay soils. These variations contribute to the diversity of flavours in Samuel’s Collection Barossa Shiraz.
