The fresh, floral and unoaked 2021 Zaha Chardonnay was produced with grapes from a vineyard planted in 1975 with a massal selection in Los Árboles. The full clusters were pressed and fermented in a 5,000-liter concrete vat with indigenous yeasts, and the wine matured with the lees for almost one year, without malolactic or oaking. It has 13% alcohol, a low pH and remarkable acidity and balance; they believe the massal selections have better acidity than the clones, and there’s always some other varieties, perhaps 4% Semillon, Riesling, Tokai Friulano, Chenin Blanc…. It’s varietal, clean, harmonious and elegant, with some unusual herbal notes, tasty, sharp and dry with a supple finish. 8,000 bottles. 2022-2027
