94 pts Wine Advocate Issue #212 April 2014
The 2011 Aluvional Altamira is pure Malbec planted at 1,100 meters in soils with big boulders and a high chalk content in Altamira, which produces serious, elegant but a little backward wines. It opens with shy aromas of black cherries and blueberries, ripe, yet terse, vibrant and very harmonious, then moves on to a medium-bodied palate, that is powerful but without showing it in an obvious way. This is a superb example of the character of Altamira through the Malbec grape.
